Adult Mosaic ClassesMerryl's Mosaics & Glass Studio
Merryl's Mosaics has been running Mosaic Classes/Workshops for the past 7 years and thousands of people have learnt to mosaic here.
Merryl's Mosaics run mosaic sessions daily as follows:
Monday 10am – 4.30pm, 7-9.30pm
Tuesday 10am – 12.30pm; 7pm-9.30pm
Wednesday: 10 – 4.30pm; 7pm – 9.30pm
Thursday 10am – 5pm
Friday 10am – 12.30pm
Sunday 10am – 12.30pm
Saturday: 10am – 5 pm (on booking basis only)
Mosaic Classes run for 2.5 hours and cost $50 plus GST per session. Extra costs include the product you mosaic (mirror, board, tissue box etc.) and enlargement of photo copy if required. If you choose to use some specialty glass there is a cost, and also if you choose to use my kiln (some people use kiln pieces in their mosaic). But otherwise the cost is all inclusive. You can do as many sessions as is required to complete your piece.
You can come and try out one session, and if you like it we can go from there.
Usually people come once a week, at the same time each week, but this is not a requirement. Also if you miss one class you can just come another time to make it up. If you come more than once a week then the second, third etc. time is cheaper in that week.
You can start whenever it suits you. I will give you as much attention as you require, and I will make sure that when you begin I have the time available to look after you. Within a session or 2 you will be well on your way.
If you have a particular mosaic piece in mind I would prefer to discuss the piece before you begin, as often I would need to enlarge the image (which I do off-site) and get wood to fit. But if you are planning to come in and give it a go I have many things to choose from.
Mosaicing is great fun to do and you will develop skills quickly to make very beautiful pieces which people won’t believe you made! It is a very therapeutic activity.
If you are interested in both glass fusing and mosaicing (we teach both), I would generally recommend that you mosaic first because you will learn a lot of cutting skills along the way. Then glass fusing is very easy to transition into. But this is not a requirement.
